February 17, 2014 Discussion of Risk

Discussion of risk: The risk is the same as the weaknesses from our swot analysis. The risk of our company consist of start up cost. With our company unreliable as to how we will gain the amount of money for our business to commence is one of the main risk factors. We will join with another business making sure we can gain as mush assets as possible and generate some kind of deal letting them gain half profits perhaps or something to pay them back for helping us out and a little extra. Another risk discussion is generating our promotional cost. As far as advertising our company via E-mail and paper ads won't be a problem but to generate larger advertisements such as build boards for travelers which our are main target market will cost am arm and a leg we'd have to generate money for that as well. We will possibly have to take out a loan for that to. Another risk that comes among us is making sure our location is presentable and works as planned. Meaning that we choose our location hoping to still clients but hopefully they are attracted to our business and not just focused on our competitors business. So we will have to see how that plays out so far since we made an eager decision among location choice.

This week my favortie thing in class was visiting the other websites. I visited each website loooking for different ways to compete with the other businesses. I viewed their many different packages and how they tended to draw in customers. I'm very excited to up the competition by making my deals better than theirs not but just price though because that would imply cheaper quality. Therefore I decided to throw in the variety of different services to make my product more distinctive and optional. As far as remaining on task in school i do not do so well but i do devote my time after school to finish what i did not in school. SO I guess you can say my task level is pretty equal. For leading my company i believe i will do very well because i have no problem telling others what to do and how it should be done rather than done wrongly and redone. I think i am capable of multitasking and not selfish about asking questions if I myself needs help. I really honestly am only going to choose realiable employees so hopefully i won't have to do what has not been acheived.

This week has been a very organized week as far as setting deadlines o meet and having task assigned to specific departments. It caused us as a whole to be productive, well more than usual anyways. This week we have created two flyers, made bad and good news messages worked on an e-mail and promoted our item of the week. This by far has been a food week everyone is communicating better to get things done and I really enjoy seeing other students help other students. I also would like to share in general just to throw it out there that Michael Howe has been a very great contributor by helping a select few even those who aren’t involved in the same department. Great job Michael! I also want to congratulate Samuel Harris for making employee of the month. If you don’t understand why let me inform you that he has been working very hard although he is playful he still can multitask and get things done. He also was very beneficial during the trade fair, as everyone was, but him and his mother was very kind in running errands while the rest worked the booth. Once again outstanding job everyone!!

November 15

Ashley Ashworth Throughout the week we talked about some of the ways to prepare for the Trade Fair. The Trade Fair is coming up next week November 23-25 and we want to be well organized. We have reviewed some of the things that were done last year such as the booth, how they were dressed, what was done to make sales, and how those things were done. In doing so we witnessed some of the best booths and some of the items they used to create their booth. We also talked about how we as a team can be a contribute and hopefully with every students help we can create a very unique and entertaining booth. In addition to our booth setup, we also talked about what we can bring for ourselves so that we individually are ready for what’s to come. I hope to have a good time and I hope that as we are attending the Trade Fair that it will be a great learning experience. In conclusion I am very excited to go and see what the others schools have done to prepare. I’m also happy to meet other students and discuss the different things they do in their company and how they are taught in their Virtual Enterprise class about the business aspects.

Through out the week we have worked on creating a power point presentation for our business plan comptition. Today we went to a verizon buliding to compete with 7 other firms in which we were all nervous about. We didnt really practice what we were going to say today because we tried to relax and not over think what we were going to do but when we were on our way there we had some what of a discussion about it. Then we preceeded on to the holding room where we sat and were all nervous and we talked and made fun of sam for breaking his button i had to move around because i was so nervous but then as we were called upon to do our presentation the nerves worsend. When they introduced themselves i began to feel more comfortable but i was still nervous. I did better than i predicted to do which was a learning expiernce for me that not everything is as bad as it seems. As for a whole we could have did better and been more aware of the questions we were answering but overall we each learned on how to improve and what we need to grow on. After we did the presentation we all had are venting moments then when moved on shared laughs and made it a great expiernce. Theres a lot more i can say but not enough time right now.

 So far in Virtual Enterprise over the past week has been pretty easy. I have been a little bit relaxed and not doing much because I haven't really been assigned to anything accept keep others on task. I feel that i have lacked a weakness in checking up on others to keep our business under control because we have not been meeting deadlines as apposed upon to. We had plans to compete in more a the competition, but have not met requirements due to lack of effort.
     Because my focus as well as others have been misplaced I plan to make it a goal to make sure things are done and completed. I want to be able to run  the business and the right path creating examples for others. I have very been laid back and wish to step up my game. This week we have a task of completing presentations to place together for our viewing next week. We were actually very on task today and everyone was very quiet yet focused. Hopefully we can maintain this effort and continue to do better.
     As CEO of this company I will in fact lead the company and set goals also be more prepared. I wish to put in the eye of the other workers the importance of this class. If they know the importance they will understand the benefit of this class in the end. I want to be the cause of making a difference and be a great leader.
